Instrument Instructor Training

Step 1

The student will review the principles of attitude instrument flying, ATC procedures, and IFR navigation charts. The student will obtain the instructional knowledge required to teach these subjects including the recognition, analysis, and correction of common student errors.

The student will learn the analysis and performance of the maneuvers and procedures required for an instrument rating from the right seat.

Stage 2

The student will review ILS, VOR, VOR/DME, and NDB approach procedures and IFR flight planning. The student will acquire the instructional knowledge required to teach these subjects.

The student will acquire the instructional knowledge of the elements of each of the required maneuvers and procedures including the recognition, analysis and correction of common student errors. The student will be able to prepare a lesson plan for each flight and will be able to conduct the flight according to the planned lesson.
